Colewood Digital

Web Developer

Colewood Digital has been my longest and most significant role, allowing me to progress from marketing and design into full web development. Today, my main focus is building high-performance websites, handling custom API integrations, and creating smooth e-commerce platforms.

Colewood Digital has been my longest and most significant role, where I have continued to expand my skills across design, development, and digital strategy.

Over my time with the company I progressed through multiple roles including Marketing Executive, Senior Creative, and Web Developer, gaining experience across the full lifecycle of digital projects.

My work focuses on building high-performance websites and e-commerce platforms, turning client ideas into scalable, functional products. Projects regularly involve custom development, API integrations, and connections with third-party systems.

Through this role I have developed a wide range of skills including:

  • Website and e-commerce development
  • Performance optimisation
  • Server and hosting management
  • API integrations and automation
  • SEO and marketing strategy
  • UI/UX design and frontend development

Working across these areas has allowed me to bridge the gap between design, marketing, and development, ensuring that the solutions I build are not only technically robust but also effective for the businesses that use them.

Web.com

Web Designer

This role was all about learning to work fast without losing quality. Building sites for a huge client base, I became the go-to person for our new website builder, MONO, and eventually moved into coordinating projects to keep everything running smoothly.

Following Scoot’s acquisition by Web.com, I moved into a web design role focused on delivering websites for a large volume of clients.

I was the first member of the team to train on the company’s new website builder platform, MONO, which positioned me to help guide others as the team expanded and demand increased. As the workload grew, my role evolved beyond design into project coordination, where I managed multiple website builds simultaneously while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

This period helped develop my ability to balance creativity with production efficiency while working within a fast-paced agency environment.

Scoot

Marketing Executive

At Scoot, I shifted into marketing, working with the team to help bring in new business. My day-to-day was all about building landing pages that convert, setting up partner pages, and helping out with email campaigns. It really opened my eyes to how design affects business growth.

At Scoot I transitioned into a marketing-focused role, working closely with the digital marketing team to support lead generation and campaign initiatives.

My responsibilities included building landing pages designed to convert traffic into leads, developing partner pages, and assisting with email marketing campaigns. This role gave me a deeper understanding of how design and development interact with marketing performance, conversion optimisation, and user behaviour.

Working within a marketing team helped me develop a broader perspective on digital products, learning how websites function not just as visual platforms but as tools for business growth.

SF Media

Junior Designer

This is where my career started. As a junior designer, I worked on all sorts of creative projects for small and medium-sized businesses—everything from website designs to marketing materials. It was a great introduction to the industry and helped me build my core design skills.

At SF Media I began my career in the digital industry as a junior designer, working on a variety of creative projects for small and medium-sized businesses.

My role involved designing websites, marketing materials, and digital assets for client campaigns. This position gave me early exposure to the full creative process, from understanding client requirements to translating ideas into visual designs. Working closely with more experienced designers helped me develop a strong foundation in layout, branding, and user-focused design principles.

Although my time here was relatively short, it played an important role in developing the creative and problem-solving skills that would shape the rest of my career.

EMS

LV3 Team Leading & Management

This course was all about learning how to lead people and manage projects effectively. It helped me step up from just doing technical work to understanding how to guide a team. I learned how to communicate better, handle team dynamics, and make sure projects get delivered on time without the stress.

Open University

Computer Science

Doing this course through the Open University took a lot of self-discipline and time management. Because it’s mostly independent study, I had to learn how to solve tough technical problems on my own. It really sharpened my ability to pick up new tech skills quickly and manage my own workload.

Teesside University

Computer Science

This is where I really got stuck into the core principles of computer science. I spent my time learning how software works under the hood, working with databases, and building solid coding habits. Working on group projects here also taught me a lot about how to problem-solve with other developers.

Middlesbrough College

Software Engineering

This was my starting point in the tech world. It was a really hands-on course that taught me the basics of software engineering and how to code. We focused on taking an idea from scratch and actually building it into working software, which is what got me hooked on development in the first place.
